Ukraine is truly a documentary photographers paradise, encompassing an interesting blend of classic soviet culture, mixed with a new generation wanting to embrace more western values. In the heart of Kiev you can experience traditional street markets, incredible rustic architecture and a vibrant energy of new bars and restaurants running along the banks of the river Dnieper. Heading south from Kiev into central Ukraine, you are presented with endless flat fields of green, that beautifully contrast with the yellow of all the sunflowers and the amazing cloud formations and blue skies. Here you will find fruit and veg markets, boasting some of the most organic and fresh foods found anywhere in the world. Mostly famous for the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, the majority of western people still know very little about this hard yet fascinating and beautiful country. With its fantastic summer weather, great food, cheap beer and vodka, it really makes one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe a must visit for any seasoned traveller.
